One of the final events on the 2015 weightlifting calendar was the 2015 Oceania Pacific Cup in New Caledonia.

The best lifter of the tournament was Manueli Tulo of Fiji. His performance was outstanding totalling 246kg. This was his best ever performance. He was unlucky in missing his last snatch of 111kg and last clean & jerk of 141kg. He is getting very close to reach individual qualification for Rio.

Morea Baru from PNG is back in form again. He totalled 281kg, missing 126kg snatch and 162kg jerk. Morea is also close to individual qualification for Rio.

David Katoatau, was very unlucky when he just missed the jerk on 211kg for a new Commonwealth record in the 105kg category. After a great clean on 211kg.

The most improved lifter in the female section was young Yasmin Carter from Australia. Yasmin was invited by the Oceania Weightlifting Federation to participate in the 2015 OTIP Program, as part of the development program for emerging young athletes in the Oceania region.
