The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) team is extremely satisfied with the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) Coordination Commission (Co Comm) review of Gold Coast 2018 planning and progress.

With three years and six months until the Games, Co Comm Chairman, Bruce Robertson said GOLDOC was “relative to where they should be and exactly where they need to be”.

Security and transport planning were deemed exceptional and well progressed with the venue and infrastructure development work considered “impressive”.

GOLDOC will undertake work in areas according to their current planning schedule that will include a complete review of the ticketing strategy by a newly appointed ticketing manager in the first quarter of 2015. Timing of ticket sales is yet to be determined and will be considered as a key part of the ticketing review. It is anticipated sales will commence towards the end of 2016.

The Carrara Indoor Stadium will be upgraded to host the weightlifting competition in 2018.

The stadium will be able to accommodate 2,500 spectators
