Australia will send a team of seven to next month’s IWF World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The team is an exciting blend of youth and experience, headed by two-time Olympian Deb Acason, competing in what could be her final International competition for Australia.

Acason, who this year competed at her fourth Commonwealth Games, will compete in the 75kg + event, along with Victoria’s Kaitlyn Fassina.

It will be Fassina’s first major International event.

Also in the team are newcomers Tegan Napper and Kylie Lindbeck, who both made their Commonwealth Games debuts this year after relatively short times in the sport.

Canberra’s Lindbeck will compete in the 75kg class, while Gold Coast’s Napper will lift in the 53kg division.

Three-time Commonwealth Games lifter Erika Ropati Frost will lift alongside good friend Napper in the 53kg division, while Jacquie White will be lifting in the 63kg category.

Two-time Commonwealth Games medalist and 2012 Olympian Seen Lee will be determined to return to her best form when she competes in the 58kg division.

We wish all the Australian team members the best of luck for the World Championships.
